Hydrogen Bonds

                                                        HYDROGEN BONDS:
  • A special type of dipole-dipole attraction.
  • It occurs between molecules containing a hydrogen atom bonded to a highly electronegative atom with at least one electron pair.
  • For a hydrogen bond to form, hydrogen should be bonded to either a fluorine, oxygen, or nitrogen atom.
  • These atoms are electronegative enough to cause a large partial positive charge on the hydrogen.
